Vermont is on of the 50 U.S. states. The capital of
Vermont is Montpelier. Vermont is located in the Northeastern part of the
U.S. most commonly known as the New England states. It is between New York
and New Hampshire. Vermont has one of the oldest capital buildings in the
country. Vermont is known as the Green Mountain state. The state population
is 608,827 people and the state covers 9,250 square miles of land. The governor
is Jim Douglas, he was elected in 2002. The state animal is the Morgan Horse,
the bird is the Hermit Thrush, the flower is the Red Clover, the butterfly
is the Monarch, and the tree is the Sugar Maple.
