Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is engaging students. I think that engagement is the most important part in being a teacher because without engagement students will not learn.

Career Goals

To maintain my teaching philosophy. I will do this by trying to use as many of the multiple intelligences in my lessons as possible, try to be as exciting and enthusiastic as possible and pay attention to each individual student and much as I can. Another goal I have is to be available as much as possible before and after school and keep in good contact with willing parents.

Previous Education

I started my education in Farmington Hills with a high school diploma at Farmington High School. Now, I am attending Western Michigan University in hopes to be a Special Education Teacher and get a masters degree.

Experience

I have had a lot of experience working with children. I have worked at a daycare for about four years of my high school life. From then I am now doing a pre-internship with a kindergarden class at Washington Writers Academy in Kalamazoo. I also love to babysit and have a large family full of kids.

Talents and Hobbies

I enjoy listening to music, swimming, working with people, helping others, reading, and being with friends and familiy. Since I enjoy helping others I do a lot of volunteer work at Soup Kitchens, The Salvation Army, and other non-profit organizations.

ISTE Technology Standards for Preservice Teachers I have met:

• identify specific technology applications and resources that maximize student learning, address learner needs and affirm diversity.

• design and teach technology-enriched learning activities that connect content standards with student technology standards and meet the diverse needs of students.

• identify and engage in technology-based opportunities for professional education and lifelong learning, including the use of distance education.

• examine acceptable use policies for the use of technology in schools, including strategies for addressing threats to security of technology systems, data and information.
