I have created a couple of lesson plans that I found to work great with my students; one, on the Types of Rocks, will not only familiarize students on the three different types of rocks, but also have them use a hotlist. While using the hotlist student's will also be working on saving images to a floppy disk. The second lesson: Eye Color Data Collecting, has students working with Excel where they will need to organize their collected data into a table and then make it into a graph. Both lessons are easy to follow with step by step procedures; also, there a great lesson to leave with a substitute! |
Valuable Lesson Plans |
The Plus & Minus Game is a great lesson plan for math. It works with place value, addition, and subtraction; it also incorporates beneficial aspects of the NCTM standards for a first grade level math lesson! It has all the steps and assessment criteria included for an error free process. This lesson on: Initial and Final Sounds is a lesson that would be valuable for a first grade language arts activity. The use of Dr. Suess (who is loved by all) books would help keep the students interested and having fun; in addition, having the procedure, evaluation, materials, and directions listed in a timely manner gives ease to teaching a not so popular subject! All About Fish: is a wonderful science lesson plan that has incorporated numerous goals that will favor student's knowledge as they further their education in science. The lesson teaches student's about the variety of groups of animals, identifies animals classified as fish, and characteristics of fish. |
