Professional Goals

The professional goals I hold for my life are fairly simple. I would like to be a job holding adult who can afford to have fun and support his kids and family in the future. I believe that it is necessary to get a good enough job in order to fulfil that dream and college is going to allow me to accomplish that dream. While in college I am determined to keep a place in the Lee Honors College, as well as the Dean's List at the business college. I hope to find an internship my sophomore summer and get started early. I believe that learning is not reading and studying, it is doing. I can learn 100 times the information from a day at a business than I could than a year in a class. However, don't get me wrong the classroom part is also necessary!

On a personal level however, I want to have fun! College is a place where most people find themselves and discover what kind of person they are. You learn whether or not you can stick to your standards, put the effort in when it counts, and you get to watch your personal space disapear. All in all though the college experience is like non other. Those that never live on campus are definately missing out. Dorm life is like living in a hotel year round. The rooms are crappy, the parking is crappy, and the food is pretty crappy, but the people are great, and you will not find them anywhere else but in a dorm. Whether is 12 p.m. or 4 a.m. you are most likely not the only one awake and can always find someone else to talk to. I am hoping that over the next few years, although I will be living off campus, to find and keep new friends and make new relationships.
