Overview

My unit plan was designed for "Black Forest Overture" by Michael Sweeney. The work was performed by the 7th and 8th grade combined band at District XI MSBOA Middle School District Festival as our "selected piece" on March 20th 2010.

The work was fairly difficult for the 8th grade band, but perhaps just beyond the ability of the 7th grade band. As a result, they marked about half of the song "tacet" for the festival performance.
