This dialogue is designed to accompany Chapter 20 of volume 2.
Mary is walking
down the street looking for the Irohaya souvenir shop.
She is not sure where it is, so asks the
clerk (店員 てんいん) in another
shop for directions.
メアリー：あの、すみません。いろは屋という店がどこにあるか教えていただけませんか。
店員：いろは屋ですか。地図を持って(い)ますか。
メアリー：いいえ。いそいでいたから、持たないで、来ちゃったんです。
店員：そうですか。ちょっとわかりにくいかもしれませんね。まっすぐ行ったら、交番があるから、そこで聞いてみてください。
メアリー：はい、ありがとうございました。
