The principle recommends that the webpages in a website should have the same color scheme, layout scheme, and navigation scheme.


Someone who enters a building for the first time consciously or unconsciously scans the layout of the building to figure out its structure - hallways, stairs, exits, elevators, and rooms. Once they become familiar with the layout, their comfort level increases. As they move from floor to floor, they expect the layout to remain very similar.
