Welcome!
I believe that
students are most successful when they are responsible for their
learning. Therefore, my teaching style is unique. My students
participate in collaborative groups and are required to focus
on the topic of the course as well as their skills in active learning.
My focus of
study is on children's literature. However, I teach the study
of this genre as it is part of the literary canon and do not focus
on methods of teaching children's literature.
I graduated
from Oakland Community College Summa Cum Laude with my Associate
Degree in Liberal Arts. Then, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from
Wayne State University. My major was Elementary Education with
an emphasis in English. I attended Hollins University for my Masters.
Presently, I
am a Ph.D. student at Western Michigan University. In my spare
time (ha ha), I write reviews for the Children's Literature Association.
