History

Bambi Lake Baptist Retreat & Conference Center consists of 240 acres of rolling woodlands in Roscommon County, the heart of Northern Lower Michigan. The property is a mixture of upland hardwoods and lowland conifers (including cedar), and also boasts a 20-acre, spring-fed lake. The land, once a hunting club, was purchased in September 1958 by the Baptist State Convention of Michigan. The land and all the buildings on it are paid for through the Cooperative Program, gifts and offerings from Michigan Southern Baptists. No debts are owed on any Bambi land, facilities or structures. Through the years, Bambi has developed into a year-round conference center, providing worship, training and recreational opportunities for people of all ages and interests.
