Collegiate Objectives
In the end of my High School career I was left with
the decision of what to do next. I knew that I wanted to go farther then what
my hometown and a High School diploma could provide for me. The option of
community college seemed unpromising to me, I’ve watched my fellow peers float
through community college and never go any father. I want to go father. The
fact that I have made it this far makes me proud of myself and my achievements,
and I know even more so how proud my family is. I didn’t become another factory
worker, or teenage mother. The one thing that I think I can gain on a personal
level from college is achievement and pride. I and my family know that I put
forth the effect to better myself, and some day my children will know the
effort I made, and hopefully be compelled to do the same.
When I reach the end of my college career I want to
have the security of knowing I have options. In times like today knowing that
the work force wants you is priceless. I won’t make the common mistake of
wishing to be rich and then get disappointed, I want to be secure. Wealthy
enough to buy the things I need and some of those I want. In my future I want
to be able to take care of my family, and know that my children will be taken
care of. I have not yet decided where my schooling will take me, or what field
it will lead me too. Those decisions will come in time, for now I am learning
about the world around me, what it has to offer and more importantly, what I
have to offer for the rest of the world.
