Columbia is a South American country that is connected to the strip of land connecting North and South America. The climate in Columbia is characterized by tropical along coast and eastern plains; cooler in highlands. This country is one of the last that has rain forest and they are in danger of deforestation. The population of the country is about 43 million and the capital of the country is Bogota. The GDP is just under $7,000 and the country is under a relatively new constitution from the early 1990’s. The country is known from its drug trafficking and guerilla warfare and is viewed to be unsafe to travel to.
