Personal Biography:

My name is Katie and I currently reside in the lovely mitten state (Michigan.) I'm your typical Midwest, meat and potatoes kind of girl, despite being born in Massachusettes. At the tender age of 3 my family moved from the east coast to the great state of Wisconsin, which is where my love for everything Wisconsin grew (this would include the Packers, Badgers, cheese curds, the appreciation for the smell of a dairy farm, etc.) We moved on to spend 2 years in the Land of 10,000 Lakes (Minnesota.) If you thought Green Bay was the "frozen tundra," try visiting northern Minnesota in January where the temperature fails to exceed zero degrees and everyone talks like they were in the movie Fargo...needless to say it was an interesting 2 years. After Minnesota we headed due east and landed in southeast Michigan, where I spent my days playing soccer, running track, hanging out with great friends and enjoying school. My college life took me to the wonderful town of Kalamazoo, MI where, even after 4 years of undergraduate courses at Western Michigan University, I liked it so much I decided to stick around for 2 more years of Masters courses. Call me crazy, but I love school!

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to tell you a little bit about my family! My dad, Kevin, currently lives in Kalamazoo and is the glue that holds my life together at the moment...without him I would be a mess! My mom, Bambi (yes, like the deer.) is back in southest Michigan in the not-so-lovely town of Ypsilanti. She's a riot and I always know that my time spent with her will be a good time. Then there is my only sibling, Tim. He's exactly 2 years older than me, and when I say exactly, I mean I was born on his 2nd birthday...at the time of my birth he said I was the best birthday present ever, but these days he is putting his foot in his mouth! We were never that close despite sharing a birthday, but since he got married 2 years ago, we've actually quit bickering all the time! Either way, I love him all the same.

We will finish off this biography with a little glimps into my personality....OY! My close friends tend to say I'm the "comic relief" type and that I usually have a witty comment for everything. I like to incorporate movie quotes into my everyday dialogue because sometimes it's just the best way to sum up what I'm feeling! I'm more or less your average sporty girl who loves to watch football, yet can throw down at the mall! Overall, I like to say I'm "laid back like a dead fly."
