My Story
My name is Kylie Beth Fitzsimmons. I was born on my mother's birthday on September 15th, 1988 alongside my twin sister Nicola. I also have a brother who is in North Carolina and a dad who has never really been in the picture. I have lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan all of my life, and although I am thankful for the Kalamazoo Promise I do not plan on staying here once I graduate. I don't like the cold, and I would really like to travel. I currently am working as a server at a restaurant downtown called Pasta Pasta. I enjoy the people I work with although I get few hours a week, and not much during that time. I prefer it however, over Dairy Queen where I worked for two years. I am now a sophomore at Western Michigan University. I am the first graduating class from Kalamazoo Public Schools to get the Kalamazoo Promise, which means during the school year I am able to live in the dormitories free of charge, as well as have my tuition paid for. I know I got extremely lucky, and I am extremely greatful and will use every ounce of the Promise to it's advantage. When I am not working or going to school I enjoy spending time with my friends, going on road trips, going to concerts or just listening to music, and taking pictures.
