I went on the internet and went to a website that is called “Kaboose”. I went into the kid’s domain section and then went to “The safe surfing guide”. I then went to the section of the article called “surfing”. This section of the article describes everything that parents should be weary of.  This article also includes rules that parents should have in their household. The internet is a scary place and if the right precautions aren’t used, identity could be stolen, and lives could be corrupted. The rules that could be used at home could also be used in the computer labs at school. To find out more specifics go to http://www.kaboose.com/surf.html.

When I went to the “Kaboose” website again, I went to an article titled “computers inside and out”. I went to the section that said “Lesson 5: Programs”. Under this section there was an option to click on worksheet. This worksheet could definitely be used in the classroom. It is a matching worksheet and would help the students learn about different programs on the internet, in an easy way. To get the worksheet or other resources go to http://education.kaboose.com/tutoring/brain-computer-lesson.html.

Lastly, at the “Kaboose” website there is a section that is called the “computer toolbox”. This section has downloads for students from ages 2 to adults. It has programs that are available to download; some of these programs help you to type, learn about the internet, etc.  If students are having problems with typing, or if they don’t know how to safely surf the internet, this would be a great resource for them. To start downloads or if your just curious go to http://www.kidsdomain.com/down/pc/_computertoolbox-index.html.
