LifeTeen Core Team
St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Portage, MI- August 2000-present
As a member of the Core Team I work with a dedicated group of young adults
in planning and implementing large and small weekly youth group activities
for over 100 teenagers. I have served as a chaperone for numerous church
sponsored events.
Peer Educator
Western Michigan University, January 2001-present
As a Peer Educator I went through an extensive training about sexual assault,
causes and prevention strategies. I travel to different classrooms throughout
the university and give presentations about sexual assault, answering
questions, fielding misconceptions and helping students who may be struggling
with their own experiences.
Alternative Spring Break
Alamosa, CO- March 2000
I traveled to Colorado with a group of 12 other WMU students to serve
in a homeless shelter during Spring Break. We worked together to cook
meals, clean, and organize the shelter and talked with residents.
