The Big Full Moon

28 March 2002 Thursday

The Moon's orbit is not

quite circular.

The "Moon Effect"

makes the Moon appear

to be bigger when it is near

the horizon, especially when there

are nearby trees or buildings.

This Full Moon and the last one, the Moon appears really large and bright, because it is larger and brighter than "normal".

Though not quite cicular, it was spectacular on Wednesday night, 27 March 2002.
