House is an American medical drama that debuted on the FOX network on November 16, 2004. Since that time it has won numerous awards. It was nominated for six Golden Globe Awards, and has won two, as well as receiving the 2005 Peabody Award for, as the Peabody guild described it, ‘an unorthodox lead character – a misanthropic diagnostician”, which led to the show being named the best new medical drama in a decade. The American Film Institute also included House on its 2005 list of ten Television Programs of the Year.
