Collegiate Objective

Attending college will assist me in achieving my professional goals. The reason I am attending Western Michigan University is to become a member in the profession of nursing, and serve the injured and ill people in our community. During my time in college, my goals include maintaining a grade point average of at least 3.5, meet and form relationships with other health care students, and to graduate in four years. Due to the education I receive and the skills I will learn as a nursing student, hospitals will hire me to work above nurses from other universities. The techniques I will learn in nursing school, as well as the education I will receive from a general education, will enable me to better serve and heal the public.

Attending college will also assist me in achieving my personal goals. While attending school, my goal is to meet different people from different backgrounds. Associating myself with a wide range of people will, in the long wrong, enable me to better serve ill and disabled people of different races, languages, and socioeconomic levels than my own. From my fellow classmates, I will become more in-touch with who I am. College is designed to be not only a learning experience in the scholarly field, but also as a learning experience in developing our beliefs, friends, and politics that will forever be an integral part of our lives.
