The Beginning of the DK Alumni Association
April 27, 1937
Meeting was called to order by Leon Dunning, acting as temporary chairman. Mrs. Ivan Smith was selected as temporary secretary.
Resolution was made by Lewellan Erb, and seconded by Ross Pierce to form an alumni association. Motion was voted on and carried unanimously.
Motion was made by Maxine Horton, and seconded by Beatrice Dunning, that the officers of said association consist of President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer. Motion carried.
Motion made by Leo Letchlitner and seconded by Lena Waters, that the secretary cast a ballot for Leon Dunning as President. Motion carried. Leon Dunning was officially elected as President. Motion made by Maxine Henton and seconded by Beatrice Dunning that Ross Pierce act as Vice-President. Motion carried. Motion made by Beatrice Dunning and seconded by Ross Pierce that Mrs. Ivan Smith be elected as Secretary-Treasurer. Motion carried.
Motion made by Kenneth Horton and seconded by Lena Waters that the President be empowered to select a nominating committee. Motion carried.
Motion made by Beatrice Dunning and seconded by Lewellan Erb that we hold our first Alumni Banquet on June 5, 1937, at 7:00, and that we charge .75 a plate for all people, except the present twelfth grade, and their charge to be .50 per plate. Motion carried.
Motion made by Lewellan Erb and seconded by Kenneth Horton that the officers be empowered to appoint a Program Committee and a Banquet Committee. Motion carried.
Motion made by Leo Letchlitner and seconded by Kenneth Horton that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried.
