Alumni Banquet Organization and Duties

There shall be an Alumni Banquet Executive Committee comprised of three standing members and three members chosen each year from the class of 25 years and the class of 50 years. The class of 25 years provides a President and a Secretary/Treasurer. The class of 50 years provides a Vice President. The committee is:

  • President - Class of 25 Years
  • Vice President - Class of 50 Years
  • Secretary/Treasurer - Class of 25 Years
  • Coordinator - Mary Sager, Class of 1956
  • Webmaster - Nancy Kroes, Class of 1970
  • Member at Large - Joyce Harrington, Class of 1944

by June 1 Coordinator Send a letter to the school requesting the High School Dining Commons and the LGI for the following year
by March 15 Coordinator Obtain notebook from storage at Buckland Agency and call a committee meeting of the above members to assure all are on task
first week in April Coordinator Call a second committee meeting to determine text for the banquet program and suggestions for next year's officers
second week in April Coordinator Submit announcements to local papers and radio stations
second week in April Coordinator Request custodial, cafeteria, and technology services from the school for the night of the banquet
by May 1 Class of 25 years Create and print program
by May 1 Coordinator Create and print invitation to graduating class and submit to High School for inclusion with their mailings to seniors.
before banquet Class of 25 years Obtain decorations for honored class tables & if needed, placemats & napkins for all tables
4 p.m.
Day of banquet
Class of 25 years & Webmaster Meet with custodial and set up tables for dining and food and for signing in. Also meet with tech coordinator to assure microphones are available for the business meeting.
at banquet Class of 25 years Welcome to the banquet
at banquet Class of 50 years Invocation prior to meal
at banquet Class of 25 years Request donations and pass the baskets, after eating and before retiring to the LGI
at meeting Class of 25 years or Class of 50 years Welcome the graduating class to the Alumni Association - this is typically done by the parent or grandparent of someone from the graduating class
at meeting Graduating class Response to the welcome
at meeting Class of 25 years Roll Call
at meeting Class of 50 years In memoriam
at meeting Class of 25 years Reading of the past banquet's secretary/treasurer's report and request for approval
at meeting Class of 25 years Request for old business and new business
at meeting Class of 25 years Present names for following year's officers
at meeting Class of 25 years Brief (10 minutes) remarks
at meeting Class of 50 years Brief (10 minutes) remarks
at meeting Class of 25 years Present 50 year pins to 50 year attendees. This is done by going to the floor level and asking the 50 year class to come forward.
at meeting Class of 25 years Announce a 30 minute social time to continue reminicing
after meeting Class of 25 years Create Secretary/Treasure reports and pass them, the banquet forms, and any monies collected above and beyond banquet expenses on to the Coordinator who will then make the deposit
after meeting Coordinator Contact Webmaster to pickup banquet reports to add to the Web site
after meeting Webmaster Update Web site and return all reports to Coordinator
after meeting Coordinator Returns notebook to storage at Buckland Agency
