Western Michigan University is a Finalist for the American Humanics '08-'09 Program Excellence Award
Nonprofit Student Professionals (NSP) at WMU is honored to be one of two national finalists for the Program Excellence Award from American Humanics. This award is the most prestigious given at the annual three day American Humanics Management Institute. Seventeen NSP students will travel to Phoenix in January 2010 to present their case. Judges will choose a winner based on a presentation by students and this video:
The two finalists were chosen from 65 campuses based on the following criteria:
- Well developed coursework in nonprofit management and leadership
- Students placed in meaningful nonprofit internships and professional employment
- Strong relationships between the university and its nonprofit community
- Students engage in meaningful community service and leadership experiences
