Anth 3450: Introduction to Language and Culture

• An introduction to linguistic anthropology for undergraduates
• Surveys major topics in linguistics and introduces semiotic approaches of linguistic anthropology

Courses for Spring 2008:

Anth 2400: Introduction to Cultural Anthropology

Anth 3580: The African Diaspora: Peoples and Cultures

• Examines some of the many societies in the Americas shaped by the Atlantic slave trade and African diaspora
• Focuses on ethnographic and ethnohistorical studies of African-descended people in the New World
