Burton Burton Snowboards takes surfing to the slopes with its line of premium snowboards and snowboarding equipment. The company is the world's leading snowboard maker, controlling about 40% of the market. Burton Snowboards also produces and sells snowboarding apparel, boots, bindings, packs, luggage, eyewear, and outerwear. Brands include Burton snowboards; AK, Radar, and Ronin outerwear; R.E.D. protective gear; Anon opticwear; Gravis footwear; and Analog streetwear. Burton Snowboards operates a handful of factory outlet stores located in Massachusetts, Illinois, New York, Vermont (at the company's headquarters), and in Austria. The company is owned by its chairman, Jake Burton, a snowboarding enthusiast who founded the company in 1977. Pacific Sunwear of California Inc Pacific Sunwear of California (PacSun) knows that US teens want "swag" that's allll good. At its Pacific Sunwear stores, the company targets trendy young men and women with name-brand casual apparel (jeans, shorts, T-shirts, swimwear), shoes, and accessories. Stores feature name-brand apparel by Billabong and Quicksilver, as well as footwear by DC Shoes, among others. PacSun also sells its own private-label merchandise (Bullhead, Breakdown, Good Vibes, and Tilt). The company operates Web sites and about 1,100 stores in 50 states and Puerto Rico under the names PacSun and PacSun Outlet. It is closing its d.e.m.o. (focused on hip-hop inspired urban fashion) and One Thousand Steps stores. |
