 Typical Four Stage Sequence

  1. Drinking beer and wine

  2. Smoking cigarettes and drinking hard liquor

  3. Smoking marijuana

  4. Using "Hard Drugs" like LSD

Purposes for use

  •  Experimental (out of curiosity) "to see what it's like"*

  •  Social (Social activities, parties, dances)

  •  Medicinal (To relieve an unpleasant emotional state)

  •  Addictive (Depending on regular use of the substance)


Prevention

  • Delivered through schools, to help raise self-esteem.
  • DARE
  • Orientations workshops
  • Pamphlet information
  • Open communication
