Coca-Cola

Even in the Australian Outback, you are never too far from a cold bottle of the world's leading soft drink, thanks to Coca-Cola Amatil(CCA). CCA is the leading bottler of Coca-Cola products serving Australia and the Asia/Pacific region. It's also an anchor bottler for The Coca-Cola Company. CCA products include Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Fanta, Sprite, and Lift Plus -- an energy drink comprised of B vitamins, caffeine, ginseng, and guarana (a stimulant). CCA sold its Philippines bottling operations to San Miguel Corp. The Coca-Cola Company owns 35% of CCA.

Looking for growth beyond traditional carbonated colas, the company acquired Neverfail Springwater Ltd. in 2003 and SPC Ardmona, an Australian producer of canned food, in 2004. The Ardmona purchase added such food products as canned tomatoes, beans, and pasta to CCA's roster. Continuing to its food holdings, in 2005 it acquired the Grinders Coffee Group.
