Liang DongLiang Dong received the B.S. degree in applied physics with minor in computer engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, in 1996, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998 and 2002, respectively. From 1996 to 2002, he was a Research Assistant with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Texas. From 1998 to 1999, he was an Engineer at CWiLL Telecommunications, Inc., Austin, TX, where he participated in the design and implementation of a smart antenna communication system. In 2000, he was a Consultant for Navini Networks, Inc., Richardson, TX. From 2002 to 2004, he was a Research Associate with the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Notre Dame. He joined the faculty of Western Michigan University in August 2004 and is currently an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research interests include communication systems, wireless networks, digital signal processing, and integrated circuit for communications. He is a senior member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and a member of American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). He has been on the executive board of IEEE West Michigan Section since 2006, and was on the executive board of ASEE North Central Section in 2007-2008. He is a member of Sigma Xi, Phi Kappa Phi, and Tau Beta Pi, and faculty advisor of Eta Kappa Nu. Dr. Dong received Research Development Award and Faculty Research and Creative Activities Award from Western Michigan University in 2008. |
