WMU has required all of you to use your NetID for registration. As such, your e-mail account will be your NetID and the one that I will use in class.
| This class is set up to give you practical experience by organizing and administering projects in the community. This year (Fall 2011) class will work on two such projects: |
| 1: The Bike Trail project for the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail. The project is scheduled for Sunday, October 9th all day. You are being notified early, you MUST be in attendance. |
| 2. Hispanic Youth Soccer League for Kalamazoo. This is a project of the Lewis Walker Institute and the Hispanic American Council. With this project, we will organize and administer a youth soccer league on Saturday mornings throughout the semester. All students will have to work on this project and you must attend certain sessions. We will discuss the details the first day of class. |
NOTE: A student learns programming by experiencing it. It is difficult to teach programming in a classroom setting. You will be required in this class to participate in activities outside of normal class times. Please make sure that your schedule is flexible. A successful student in this class will approach this in a positive and professional manner. This will allow you "hands on" experience in the world of parks and recreation. |
