Return of the Computer
Tried for a Star Wars refrence there. For the last month and a half my laptop's been out of commission because, once again, my power cord went out. It's finally working again and I can start coding random stuff some more, horray! I've been practicing my photo editing skills with paint.net, a really nice freeware image editing program like the GIMP, and it's resulted in an awesome new look for the site. I'm also adding a page for services because I'm going to try my hand at fixing people's computers for some cash. All the time without a computer spawned some crazy art that may or may not result in a few Spring units, but the ideas I have will probably require some crazy scripting so it could take some time. Even without a computer I was reading up on coding. I reccomend trying out some books from the people at dummies; the books I have on C++ were written by a comedian and make for a good read. Also, if you're trying to learn any kind of web coding, check out w3schools; you can find everything you'll need here-it's made by the people that set web standards.
Another cool thing I randomly found online was the blog of the CEO of Sun Microsystems, he's got some interesting entries; specifically the one with the stats on the world's largest supercomputer at the University of Texas.

Reformatting Done ...almost
It took awhile but I've finally finished reformatting the site. I'm only uploading the main page and the about me section in the new format for now, as it's going to take a little longer to finish the rest and I really just want to have it online.
Looks a hell of a lot better in my opinion, and I learned a lot of new things in the process. There are a few quirks (it requires java to do the active stylesheet switching which I'm still deciding if I should keep at all, and I used the Cordia New font for this text which appears as times new roman on my girlfriend's computer because she doesn't have it but I'm assuming most people do) I may also be adding comment functionality to this blog section and be switching to a new host and picking up a domain name in the near future for more server space and an actual name for the site. I tried to stay away from using things that required pictures which would have made this look even better but I'm more than satisfied with the result. Here's what it used to look like. Besides that, I've started classes and I'm really excited about how they're going. All of my teachers are really in to what they're doing and it makes class 10 times more interesting when the prof actually cares about what they're saying. I also created another spring unit based on the Executioner class Ammar ship from EVE online. It looks pretty sweet but I don't have it textured yet so no pics.

More fun with Spring
I've started work on another website here which should be finished by the end of the week and is going to be packaged with the new release of Spring; .76b1. All of the major formatting is done, I just need to write up a few more pages of content and my work will potentially be seen by thousands of Spring players. I'm really looking forward to being able to contribute this bit of work :).

Also, I fired up Imperium Galactica 2 (no link; no official homepage anymore), an old game I used to play and I've been getting pretty inspired by the cinematics. I may be attempting my first mod based loosely off of IG2 for Spring soon. I have been having some fun editing weapons in PURE toying with game physics and have some pretty cool ideas in mind for potential units.

It's been awhile since the last update, and in that time I've also created a unit that works ingame; a redo of the Wisp from the Final Frontier mod. Sooo, after toying with PURE and porting a few TA units into the mod for fun, I'm pretty sure I can finish my tutorial for modding Spring and start on my own game as soon as I get the Spring Help site finished with.

On one final note, I've gained quite a bit of experience creating the Spring Help site and figured out why a lot of things I learned in Web Design weren't quite working correctly... so I'll probably be completely redoing this site as well in the near future. Hopefully I don't run out of bandwidth on this host =/.

The website is going live today! I'm working on a tutorial to help those interested in adding units to the Spring engine. It's written like a journal and follows my own journey trying to get a Flash tank I modeled into the game and I'm really liking how it's going though I kind of feel like I've hit a brick wall trying to script it... you can see some pictures of the flash in the Art section including some horrid scribbles I did to understand the concept art I was basing it off of. The Comics section of my Art page is incomplete and links to nowhere right now... I've got to scan the artwork when I get done with exams.
