I will be creating a webpage for instructing beginners on the art of macrame. Macrame is the weaving and braiding of stringing material to create jewelry and other projects such as dream catchers or bookmarks. I hope to have several project instructions to follow as well as information on the types of materials you can use as well as useful tricks of the trade.
I chose this topic because I have been creating my own jewelry as a hobby since I was in 5th grade. My mother beaded her own jewelry and allowed me to tinker around with her beads. In 10th grade I was able to take a metal jewlery class which I proceeded to take two more times. I enjoy all types of jewlery crafts including metalsmithing, wire wrapping, beading and macrame. I hope to inspire others to make their own jewelry.
