Miss Maiers Teaching Philosophy

My philosophy of teaching is that I am there to help guide children in their learning. It is my job to pass on my kowledge and let the students learn from experience. I don't want to just stand up in front of the classroom and lecture. I want to make learning fun for them, and let me get hands on experience. I want the students to be able to learn skills that will also help them in the real world, not just the basics. Learn to get along with others, and to be able to solve problems on their own, not just with others, but in every aspect of their lives. Most importantly I want them to become life long learners.

Career Goals

Even as a child playing school with my friends I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I knew that I wanted to make a diffrence in a child's life. I was influenced by my mom, who is a first grade teacher. I have spent many years in a classroom. When I was in high school I got the opportunity to visit many classrooms. I found my niche in Kindergarten. I just love working with the young ones. Their minds are like sponges, they just love learning new things. The neatest thing about Kindergarten is you get to see them grow. They just blossom from a bud into a full flower.
