In my course schedule the
following is my statement of expected outcomes and our goals and
objectives. I should be very
grateful if you would take a few minutes to give me feedback about how
effectively you think we have satisfied these criteria. Thanks very much!
Goal: To
develop an appreciation for interdisciplinary understanding of chemically
mediated interactions among organisms at different scales of organization from
molecules to ecosystems, through lectures, reading, multi-media, discussion and
hands-on research.
Objectives: To develop skills in the
following:
• Analytical thinking.
• Discipline-specific information
acquisition and analysis.
• Communication and discussion.
• Interaction among ideas, deductive
hypotheses and methods.
• Value of interdisciplinary synergism
(how methods from one discipline can allow another discipline to ask and develop
new questions).
• Hierarchical and scaling interactions
among different levels of organization from molecules to ecosystems.
These goals and objectives are
listed below with a ranking system. Please rate items in each section according
to (a) your perception of the VALUE of the course objective, and (b) whether
you think the objective was ACCOMPLISHED.
A "1" on the scale represents the lowest value; a "5"
represents the highest value. Please
make comments.
