About WMU
Founded in 1903, WMU was first known as Western Michigan College but later became a public university in 1957. Western Michigan University is home to more then 1,200 acres consisting of 143 buildings. WMU has a Main campus, an Aviation campus, and a Parkview campus. Western is one of the top 100 largest universities in the nation with approximately 25,000 students. Also Western Michigan University offers 145 undergraduate programs being the second most offered by a university in the state of Michigan.
