Proposal Instructions

Instructions for Symposium Proposals:


1. Provide the main title for the symposium and an abstract (50-word maximum) giving a general description of the symposium topic.

2. Provide separate one-page (250-word maximum) summaries for each presentation included in the symposium. Each summary page should include a title specific to that presentation.

3. Note that each symposium will be allotted 50 minutes. Submitters should keep this in mind when deciding upon the scope of their presentations.

Instructions for Paper and Poster Presentation Proposals:

1. Provide the title and an abstract (50-word maximum) giving a general description of the paper or poster topic.

2. Please provide a one to two page summary of the proposed paper or poster presentation (500-word maximum). If the poster or paper presentation is the report of research, provide a brief summary of the study, including the rationale, method, data analysis, results, and conclusions (to the extent that these are available at the time of submission).

3. Note that formal paper presentations will be allotted about 10-15 minutes. Submitters should keep this in mind in deciding upon the scope of their presentations.

Instructions for Roundtable Discussion Proposals:

1. The lead person submitting a proposal assumes the role of facilitator.

2. Provide an abstract (50-word maximum) giving a general description of the particular topic of interest.

3. Provide a one-page (250-word maximum) summary of the relevant issues in this area and the plan for discussion.

4. Each facilitator is to provide a vita or other documentation demonstrating expertise in the chosen area.
