Time to find out a little about your teacher!

Ms. Cartwright was born a year not so long ago (You thought I was going to tell you when?). I grew up in a small town, Lawrence, Michigan. I have four younger brothers with 10 years in between myself and my youngest brother. I also have a half brother who is older than I am and he now has 4 kids. When growing up I was lucky enough to live on a Lake.

Growing up with 4 younger brothers made for some interesting times, there was never a dull moment in the Cartwright house hold. Many people tend to feel sorry for me but I wouldn't trade my brothers for any sister. My parents are the very best parents in the world (of course I might be bias). My mom spent as much time as possible and still working for social services with us kids as she could. Her loving care made us all into wonderful individuals. My father who owns his own business was able to work hours conducive to spending time with his kids. He got us involved in various sports and was the coach most of the time. I know I am a teacher of physical education because of him.

I attended Lawrence Public Schools from kindergarten through 12 grade. Elementary was fun as much as I remember. In High school I played various sports. I played softball, basketball, and volleyball while in high school. I was the senior home coming queen and prom queen.

After high school I attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College on a basketball scholarship and also played one year of softball. After 2 and 1/2 years of KVCC I transferred to Western Michigan University.

At WMU I obtained my degree in physical education and a minor in health education . I am currently teaching P. E. at Edwardsburg Middle School. I just finished my second wonderful year in the the Burg. While teaching I also coached 8th grade basketball and J. V. softball. As of the summer 2005 I am taking graduate classes at WMU.
