Collegiate Objective

I am in college for a number of reasons. Getting a good education is the primary reason. I believe that people who have the opportunity to attend college enhance their ability to get better jobs later on in life. I think that the years spent in school will pay off, when one finally realizes how much an education can benefit ones life. Another reason that I chose to attend college was to grow as a person. It is not always easy to be around people with various opinions and lifestyles. It is important though, to realize just how similar everyone is, when all the petty differences are put aside. I also believe that the people I will meet during my college years will help me grow as a person. Overall, my hopes for college are to get a good education, develop life long friendships, and become a better human being.
I am usually a shy person, so I think that the college experience will be positive. After one year, I can already tell how much I have opened up. I am now able to start a conversation, compared to just casually commenting on a topic. My self confidence has improved as well. I hope to continue to grow and thrive in the college community as my years as western progress.
