Indirect Marketing

World Wide Web is a place people visit to meet their information needs. People do not really want to waste their time on sites devoted to self promotion and advertising.

However, there are ways to succesfully promote yourself or sell products. Often a succesfull strategy is to provide some valuable information to the users that will draw them to your site. For instance, if you are a financial advisor and want to promote your services, provide some free financial information on your site. Visitors will benefit from the information and will learn about you as a source of soud financial advice.

This is called indirect marketing.
