Collegiate Objective |
Going to college is a privilege that not everyone gets to encounter. Living at college and staying here all year is also another opportunity that is not taken advantage of enough by those who have the means to do so. I believe that moving to college and living in a dorm without parents is very beneficial for a student. I have learned many things that have taught me more about myself than I could imagine. College teaches you more than you think you are capable of, and most of it occurs outside of the classroom. The amount of the time that is spent inside of the classroom is minimal compared to any type of school previous to this. The amount of time spent outside of the classroom working is immensely different because the material is much more in depth and requires much more work to accomplish and master the material that is presented through lectures and labs. For my personal accomplishment, I plan on graduating from Western Michigan University with a major in Personal Finance and a triple minor in Computer Informational Systems (CIS), Spanish, and General Business. My major and my three minors will make me an asset to any company in any industry. Proper money management can help any person better themselves and keep a calm life knowing that their finances are being taken care of. Personal finance can take care of loans, mortgages, retirement funds, and anything that requires a large amount of money to be managed for a long period of time. That major compiled with my three minors will allow me to operate my major at different levels due to my knowledge of another language, and also being able to operate computer systems and manipulate systems to make my financial firm more marketable to possible clientele. Also, with a minor in general business, I would be able to manage and know if the company that I am working for is running properly or if it is going to be failing and possibly need some improvements. College not only teaches you a specific area of expertise, but it also rounds a person so that they are great in many different aspects of working and problem solving. Nicholas Young |
