My Teaching Philosophy
My educational philosophy is that no student is beyond learning, many do not wish to learn but none are beyond it. It is hard to reach today’s youth who seem to have more on their minds than their education’s, especially history, however it is my feeling that all students have a want and desire to learn despite what they may express.

History is not the youth of today’s most favorite subject to learn in school, it is considered something that can never be applied in life. My goal is to reach the students by showing that history as a subject can be used in society and everyday life.

What they learn in school goes beyond the book learned lessons but important life lessons are brought forth in school. In teaching we are instilling values and order into our students minds that they will carry with them their entire lives.

The responsibility falls on us as teachers to care for our students not only academically but also on an understanding personal level. When a level like this is reached a connection made with the student’s opens a door to learning wide open.

Not only is it important to have a good connection with the community of the school but also to create a good community within school. School is part of the larger community in which every student lives so a flow of information and help in-between school and the rest of the community can only help with the student’s growth.

A teacher should create a community inside the classroom in which the students participate in. Most of their time is spent in school or at school activities so a certain comfort level should be obtained. If a good classroom environment is achieved I feel the students will be more open and receptive to different learning styles as well as each other.
