Welcome to the Walker Within
I am currently a Junior at Western Michigan University. I am majornig in Special Education with a focus on emotional impairments and learning disabilities. I am minoring in Health Education. I live alone in an apartment in Downtown Kalamazoo, with the company of my Chihuahua, Petey.
I work at Family and Children Services and have recently been promoted as a lead worker. I provide respite care for parents with children with physical or emotional impairments. I also work at an after school program at Lincoln Elementary school. In the summer months, I work at CYO Camp in Port Sanilac, Michigan. There, I work on the administrative staff to help aid the counselors and provide program ideas for the campers. I am currently interning at Northeastern Elementary school. There, I work with 8 male students in a self-contained emotionally impaired classroom. These work experiences have opened my eyes to many things I was not exposed to growing up.
Prior to moving to Kalamazoo, I lived in Shelby Township Michigan and attended Eisenhower High School. In high school I played on the Tennis and Softball team, and particicpated in the forensics team. I took up dancing when I was barely old enough to walk and continued with dance competitively until I was 16. |
