pg Collegiate Objective

During my tenure at Western Michigan University, my personal goal is to live more of a social life. Living on my own is a big adjustment when going to college. It is something I am very excited about. Starting relationships with people from different places is also going to be exciting. I am so used to being around people from my neighborhood, and being in college will give me the chance to bring new and different people into my life. I assume that process will start with meeting my roomate and moving on from there. I want to be a different person when i return home to Chicago, not just the same old Patrick Galivan that everyone body already knows.

Professionally, the main reason I am attending Wesern Michigan University is to play for their Division 1 hockey program. This is the highest playing level before you turn pro so it is a great honor to have made it this far. My goal while here is to move on to the next level, which is the National Hockey League. However, this is not an easy task. My time here will contain a lot of hard work and very long days. Included in those days are hockey practice, classes, weight lifting, and study tables. The other obvious reason I am here is to get a degree. I need a degree because if hockey falls through I will have a degree to fall back on. I will study business and eventually proceed to graduating with a major in business. That is unless I change my major sometime in my tenure at WMU.
