Starting Fall '08, the ChE program will have two significant changes.
1) ME 2530 (Statics and Mechanics) will not longer be required.
2) BIOS 1500 (Molecular and Cellular Biology) and CHEG 3550 (Bioprocess Technology) will be required.
As part of these changes, BIOS 1500 will no longer be a course in the Life Science option list.
These changes increase program requirements by 3, bringing the total to 135 credit hours.
Current students can elect to satisfy either the old criteria or the new criteria.
Additionally, current students in the Life Science option can elect to take CHEG 3550 in place of ME 2530. Students in the Life Science option who wish to take CHEG 3550 in place of ME 2530 need to see me so we can develop the appropriate schedule. CHEG 3550 will be a Spring semester class. Prerequisites are BIOS 1500 and CHEG 2960. It is strongly recommended, but not required, that you have completed one semester of organic chemistry (CHEM 3750) as well.
