BIO

Founder, program designer and CEO of Kalamazoo-based Cardinal, LLC., Paul formed his first company in 1990 in Nottingham, England, providing financing for capital equipment leases.

Starting from a single office and with two employees, he grew the company to sales revenue of over $400 million in ten years with a committed and focused team of over 100.

Paul sold the company in 2000 before moving to Michigan.

From 1978 to 1990, he worked in engineering sales & marketing.

As a consultant, Paul has worked with Ford, Paris (France) Subway Company, British Airways, EADS, Rolls Royce Motors, Jaguar, as well as many smaller companies, particularly in the banking sector.

As well as developing Cardinal, Paul also teaches Marketing and Business at Western Michigan University.

Originally trained as an engineer, Paul holds a Masters degree in Marketing from Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham, England.

In 2010, he will begin his PhD in Evaluation, focusing on service gap analysis in the finance sector.

From 1978, Paul served twenty-two years as a reservist in the British armed forces, including six years with Special Forces, rising from the ranks to retire as a Major.

A graduate of the UK’s Special Forces School and Staff Officer Courses, he qualified as a Reconnaissance Operator and Scout/Sniper. He is also a qualified HALO/HAHO parachutist.

As a graduate of the NATO Tactical Leadership Program, Paul is used to working with people at all levels and coaching successful leaders.

Paul is a member of the prestigious Institute of Management (UK).

A 3rd dan black belt in judo, he also has coaching qualifications in rugby union and is an avid, some say obsessive, fan of the Irish rugby union team.

He supports the Shriners Hospitals for Children and the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust.
