The vision of this laboratory is to have a positive impact on our
world.
We have identified two areas where we can contribute.
- Protect the environment through development of alternative energy
technologies and methods of energy conservation.
- To provide for an improved quality of life through application of
engineering to the design of orthopedic devices.
Empowerment
Having been empowered by education, hard work, good fortune, and
opportunity, we seek to empower the next generation of engineers.
Therefore, this lab provides educational opportunities for graduate and
undergraduate education in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering.
The lab also strives to accommodate life-long
learning
at all levels by fostering open
participation and collaboration.
Community members are encouraged to participate as they are able.
Realization of vision
and empowerment
- We have provided opportunities for high school students through
the Kalamazoo Area Math &
Science Center
- We have partnered with the Kalamazoo
Center for Medical Studies to provide research opportunities to
medical residents
- Our WMU graduates have moved on to positively impact universities
(as graduate students) and companies such as:
- The University of Michigan
- Parker Hannifin
