Welcome to ED 4010

Course Description:

This course is designed to introduce students to a sampling of the elementary school science program.  Emphasis will be given to the exploration of science concepts, techniques, philosophies, and teaching strategies that are currently being used in the elementary school science classroom.

The course will introduce preservice teachers to effective methods for helping children to understand fundamental science concepts while they simultaneously develop an interest in and an appreciation for science.  A constructivist approach to learning will form the foundation for all aspects of this course.
