ShoppingBargins.com is a very poorly put together website. The site was full of non working links. The site is not user friendly and confusing. It wasn’t an easy site to navigate and search engine returned nothing on many of my searches. I rate this site very low overall and would not recommend using this site for any shopping.

 

Overstock.com is a very well put together web site. It was very easy to navigate and the hyperlinks were very well laid out. The web site also offers a huge variety of items to purchase. Most of the items were not the most current items but they did offer large discounts. Security appears to be an important part of the website to Overstock. I would recommend anyone to use this site if there was anything they were looking to purchase for their home looking for a discount.

 

Amazon.com is a very well put together website. The Amazon website is laid out very similar to the overstock website, however it lacked the company information that overstock offered. One of the biggest differences between the two website is that Amazon offers newer products with a small discount, while, Overstock offers products exclusively in short supply at large discounts. 

 

Personally I felt that this assignment was a good exercise in exploring and comparing different websites that relate to each other. This assignment has helped me make decisions on which website to visit depending on the availability of what I am looking for. I would regularly attend both the Overstock and Amazon websites for my online shopping and would encourage others to do the same.

            In the past ten year there has been a dramatic increase in the use of the internet by both business and consumers. Consumers use the internet for research, entertainment, and shopping, and email mainly. Businesses however use the internet both internally and externally to provide internal means of communication and externally for a quicker way of executing business activities that might take days otherwise. Moving the way it has been, the internet will only become a quicker and more efficient way of providing services to consumers while offering more convenience to the personal users. As more people and businesses incorporate the internet into their lives the world will become a faster and smoother running world. I predict that the modem speed at which most people are using will become extremely faster with less problems. This increase in speed and availability will save businesses and personal users greater time allowing them us direct their time to other parts of their lives.
