This page is meant for parents. It gives an opportunity to become familiar with what your child is learning in addition to helful resources to continue the learning at home.
The following are helpful resources for understanding both our classroom, my teaching style, and for becoming informed on important topics surrounding the safety of your child.
Personal Experiences Teaching Children:
-I taught religious education to 3rd and 4th graders for 2 years
-Have interned at Kellogg Elementary School in a 1st grade classroom
-Work at the CDC daycare/preschool as a teacher assistant
Helpful Websites:
Michigan Content Standards: This is the standards and benchmarks that Michigan has set-up to help create a foundation to what must be taught for each grade level. It is helpful to have access to in order to check for your own children's understandings of the benchmarks.
Kids Kaboose: This website provides several articals concerning safety issues surrounding children. It is where I recieved the Kids Domain artical on web surfing. It is important to stay updated on the new scares for children.
Safety Website: This website provides helpful ways to practice safety in your house. This includes fire drills, tornado drills, and even how to deal with strangers.
