Above is a photo of me Renee DeJonge. I was born in Hudsonville, Michigan where I lived my entire life, until leaving for college in 2004. I grew up with a younger sister, and younger brother. We are all very different, I was the typical "oldest" child, always serious about school and responsible, but my siblings and I have always been very close, even now as we all live in different cities.
I have always loved animals, but for some reason, my parents would never let me have a pet dog or cat. So, I settled for a turtle. I named him Myrtle and kept him in a cage in our basement for almost ten years. Now that I live in my own house, I finally have a kitten, named Lucy.
One thing I would like to do within the next few years of my life is to travel. I have been around the United States: Washington, Colorado, New York, but I have always wanted to see Europe, and in particular, Spain. I plan on studying abroad in the fall of 2008 in Burgos, Spain to complete my Spanish major. I love learning about Spanish culture and language, and cannot wait to experience a different country.
