The classes that I have taken are all beneficial to me however ED 401, 402, and 369 are the ones that have given me the up close and personal view if what it is to be teacher. For all of these classes I have to plan, create, and teach my own lessons to my students (one class is preschool, the other 4th Grade). I love to work with young children hence my choice for pursuing an Early Childhood Minor. I have the oppurtunity to work with children that range from age 4 to 10. Right now I am interning in a preschool classroom as well as a fourth grade classroom. These children are teaching me more than I ever expected about patience and understanding and I really appreciate it.
I chose to pursue an English minor because I love to read and I want my students to love reading as well. I enjoy children's literature that deals with all cultures, beliefs, and issues that children can understand, can relate to, and can discuss.
