Biographical Info
I arrived at WMU in the Fall of 2001 and was hired to teach the social history of Medieval Europe, 900-1200. Since arriving, I have have taught various courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in this field, including courses on literacy, power relations, and family. I have also taught courses on historical methods and theory, both in medieval history and more generally.
Over the past few years, I have become particularly interested in Instructional Technology. I participate in a number of electronic or web-based projects. I also lecture for Smithsonian Journeys which offers Study Tours to France during the summer. From 1998-2000, I was an assistant professor of history at Western Kentucky University. I was raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
