Huntsman Corporation
Huntsman Corporation is no longer in the family way. The global chemical manufacturer supplies products through four segments. Its products include MDI, amines, surfactants, and epoxy-based polymers, as well as polyurethanes. Huntsman's chemicals are sold in more than 100 countries to a variety of customers in the adhesives, construction products, electronics, medical, and packaging industries. Private investment group Matlin Patterson and the founding Huntsman family still control 57% of Huntsman. In 2007 US specialty chemicals company Hexion agreed to buy Huntsman for more than $10.5 billion.

Aside from plastic additives, Chemtura holds niche-leading positions in the manufacture of petroleum additives, flame retardants, and swimming pool chemicals. Its other products include urethanes and crop protection chemicals. The company was formed in 2005 as a result of the merger of specialty chemical heavyweights Crompton Corporation and Great Lakes Chemical. |
